Information about RSS
The Berkeley Buddhist Priory is now offering a RSS feed for its website visitors. When our online newsletter and schedule are updated, our RSS feed will let you know when the newest version of these pages are ready for viewing.
What is RSS?RSS is a format that allows our updated web page to be brought automatically to your computer. You receive RSS feeds via a RSS reader (discussed below). In some ways it is like a newsletter sent via email because it comes to you whenever there is an update. RSS feeds, however, have a number of advantages over email. Unlike email, RSS means that you are in control. There is no need to sign up or give your email address. When you no longer want to receive updates you simply delete the link.
How do I subscribe to this RSS Feed?
First you will need to have a RSS reader on your computer. Most email programs are also RSS readers. In addition, many different RSS readers are readily available for free on the internet. For help in choosing a RSS reader you may click these two links:
To subscribe to our RSS Feed, you follow the instrucions for your RSS reader. If you use SharpReader, for example, you drag the XML icon to the folder marked Subscribed Feeds. Most RSS Readers allow you to subscribe in this manner. If you are asked for the Internet Address of our feed, then you would enter the following information:
http://www.berkeleybuddhistpriory.org/_rss/bbp.xml
After you subscribe, you will be notified when our web pages or our schedule have been updated.
If you no longer wish to receive these notices, you simply delete the link to our RSS feed. Nothing else is required.
Thank you for visiting our website and we hope you found it helpful.
